HP Sprout or, Where I Will be Spending All of my Time From Now on · Craftwhack

This post is sponsored by HP and I am and so excited most it, and so read it.

Every once in a while a slice of technology is bestowed upon the states regular humans and is so extraordinary that yous take one expect at it and scream, " GAME CHANGER!"

Ladies and germs, I present to you: the HP Sprout.

Beautiful HP Sprout

This thing is so fun and cool, and non just because of the behemothic aircraft box that Beckett has been enamored with for hours on terminate. It allows you to create seamlessly and intuitively in one piece of work area, and you get to use your hands and a stylus so yous're not limited by just using an awkward mouse.

Here'south what it is- a desktop computer with a scanner/projector on superlative. There'south a work mat that attaches to the base of the computer, and and then you have your keyboard, mouse, and the best stylus I've e'er used.

It'due south s cakewalk to gear up upwards and magically walks you through each step and even shows you a couple of curt videos so you get an thought of what you can practice. Watch this video from HP if you want to get a better feel for what it offers overall, or just jump down and see the beginning projection we made with it!

When I first started playing with the Sprout, I wasn't sure what I wanted to make- I had a million ideas flight around in my caput. You know when yous try a new art medium for the first time, and yous're sort of paralyzed past all the possibilities? So I just dove in and started experimenting.

After I saw how easy it was to scan and manipulate 3D objects, I ran to the grocery shop and bought manner too much produce. The produce section is a visual wonderland when yous're choosing for shapes and colors rather than taste. Here's what I fabricated:

And then my sidekick Beckett hopped on and made these:

eggface foodface2 pepperbody platenegg

And he's 5. You all tin finally make really cool things that only the fancy Photoshop set could brand previously. Think: beautiful epitome collages like you encounter in magazines, hilarious doctored photos of your married man in a prom dress, lovely invites, gift tags, cards, multilayered web images, drawings, etc. etc. etc.

Meet what I mean near intuitive? And this is only 1 pocket-size idea for what you can practice with this.

Here is a brief tutorial on how to make these, and I ingeniously set information technology upwards so yous only see my arm and not my unshowered, yoga pants cocky:

I'm not kidding when I say I can't stay off of this bad boy- keep your optics peeled for the side by side Sprout post coming soon!

What practise you think?
